The lead characters are:
Dorothy Gale (female teenage, mezzo/soprano)
Auntie Em/Glinda (female adult, soprano)
Mrs. Gulch/Wicked Witch of the West (female, non-singing)
Zeke/Lion (tenor/baritone, comedic)
Marvel/Oz (male, non-singing)
Hickory/Tin Man (tenor, graceful)
Hunk/Scarecrow (tenor, physical comedy)
Uncle Henry/Winkie General (baritone, comedic).
Interested performers should make an audition appointment by calling 541-659-9652 and leaving a message with their name, phone number and the role or roles of interest.
Auditions for supporting parts and chorus, singers and dancers, including children, will be on April 24, by appointment.
Singers should bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Non-singing actors will be asked to perform a 60-second monologue and read from portions of the script.
Time is short for rehearsals so allowance for conflicts will be limited. Auditioners should have their conflict list ready to compare to the audition schedule. Principles will be issued provisional scripts to begin lines. Chorus members will have sides available to aid in blocking.
There are an estimated 30 to 40 parts to fill, so there are many opportunities for performers.
