| Jeff's passion for clay began over 15 years ago. He currently focuses on saggar firing, which uses a container called a sagger. Various materials; salt, steel wool, metallic sulfates and anything else that may color the surface of the vessel are placed between the wall of the pot and the container. No glazes are used. When these substances reach their melting point, they release fumes that are imprinted on the clay's surface. Jeff's studio can be found at It's a Burl in Kerby, OR. | |
